The legacy Sciwheel Browser Extension has retired. As part of our rebrand to Lean Library Workspace, we’ll stop supporting the Sciwheel extension across all browsers. Users should install the Lean Library extension as soon as possible.

How do I temporarily pause/disable/remove the Lean Library extension?

If you encountered any issue when using the extension, please get in touch with support@leanlibrary.com and we will be able to assist you further.

If you want to pause the extension, there are three options:

  1. Quick toggle
    Turn the extension on or off instantly from the extension toolbar.
  2. Block pop-ups on a domain
    Stop pop-ups on a specific website while keeping the extension active everywhere else.
  3. Browser Extensions settings
    Disable the extension from your browser’s Extensions page. You’ll need to re-enable it again later.

Quick toggle

you should be able to see a toggle button on the top right corner when you see the pop-up, you can simply toggle it off to temporarily disable the extension:

Block pop-ups on a domain

You can use the "Allow popups on this domain" button to block the extension from popping up on a specific domain. Please see the instruction in this article.

Browser Extensions settings

Google Chrome

  1. Enter chrome://extensions/ in your address bar to visit the extension settings
  2. Identify the Lean Library extension and use the slider button in RED to temporarily disable or the remove button in BLUE to remove

Firefox

  1. Visit Add-Ons section by entering about:addons in the address bar. Alternatively, select Tools Add-ons
  2. Identify the Lean Library extension and use the buttons provided to disable or remove

Safari

  1. Select Safari Preferences or press ⌘, to enter preferences
  2. Click on Extensions and identify the Lean Library extension
  3. Use the check box in RED to disable and the button in BLUE to uninstall

Opera

  1. Click on Slidebar Setup (the bottom right) Show Extensions
  2. Identify Lean Library extension and use the button [1] to disable or the X in the top right corner [2] to uninstall

Microsoft Edge

  1. Type in "edge://extensions/" on your URL and click Enter
  2. You can disable the Lean Library extension with the slide slide button in RED, or you can click the remove button in BLUE to remove the extension.
