When your extension has Lean Library Workspace enabled, you will see Highlight & Note functionality enabled by default.
This support article cover how to use Highlight & Note as well as how to temporarily disable it.
How to use Highlight & Note
- Select the text you wish to highlight and make note, and you'll see a colour palette appear:
- Once you've chosen a colour, your highlight will be saved and you'll see the option to add a note:
- Once your highlight & note has been saved, you can view the note in the extension window, and also by clicking on the highlighted text:
- You can jump to the highlighted section at any time simply by clicking the highlight in the extension window, or by clicking the 3 dot menu and selecting 'Jump to highlight'. This menu also gives you the option to copy the highlighted portion of text, or delete the annotation:
- Clicking the 3 dot menu in the popup in the text will give you the option to edit or delete the annotation, or view it in the Lean Library Workspace site:
How to disable this function temporarily?
At times, you might be on a website where you do not need to use this functionality. You can either do this by disabling this feature temporarily, or disable the extension temporarily as a whole.
Disabling Highlight & Note feature
When you highlight any text, a highlight bar will appear. Click on the 3-dot and toggle off the feature.

Enabling Highlight & Note feature again
Navigate to the Lean Library Workspace interface in the extension, click on the 3-dot again, and you can toggle on the feature again
